Korean War is a fight between North and South Korea and
Russia and America joined and Korean War turned out to be a fight between Russia and America.
The America joined because President Truman was afraid of the communists growing.
The Russia joined because of Kim Il Sung’s request but mostly because Russia wanted more communist countries.
However, Russia didn't want to fully participate so advised Kim Il Sung to ask China for help.
When he asked China for help, China agreed.
When the war started, China was getting its soldiers ready for the war.
On June 25, 1950, the Korean War began when 75,000 soldiers from North Korea poured across the 38th parallel.
To South Korea, it was a surprise attack.
Therefore, South Korea was being pushed back.
Within a few days, North Korea’s invasion of South Korea brought about a United Nations’ “police action” against the aggressors.
That made America be involved in the fight.
On June 27, Rhee Syngman from South Korea evacuated from Seoul with government officials.
On June 28, South Korea bombed the bridge across the Han River to stop the North Korean army but Seoul fell the same day.
After a few months, South Korea was mostly invaded by North Korea.
Under General Douglas MacArthur’s command, American was ready to fight the North Koreans.
Even after America’s army joined, The North Korea’s army kept progressing southwards, pushing U.S. Army to Teajeon.
In the Battle of Teajeon, U.S. Army suffered 3,602 death and wounded and 2,962 captured including one of the commander.
By August, North Korea’s army pushed the U.S. Army into Pusan, in southeast Korea.
After the fight in Pusan, North Korea lacked mans, naval, air support, and they were poorly supplied.
General Douglas MacArthur ordered to get ready for the fight in Incheon.
On September 30, China warned U.S. that if they cross the 38th parallel, China will start attacking.
By October 1, 1950, U.S. army managed to push North Korea’s army northwards, past the 38th parallel.
The U.S. Army chased after them into North Korea. MacArthur suggested them to surrender.
By October 19, U.S. Army pushed North Korea army northward and captured Pyongyang, which is North Korean capital.
